Brigitte Bardon’t

Radio Songs

November 1, 2019

Artist Location:
Toronto, Canada

Five years, twelve towns and cities, and three countries: Radio Songs by is the debut solo album from Toronto’s Brigitte Bardon’t. Here, Bardon’t’s haunting vocals are absent — these twelve tracks feature only radio and field recordings, layered, collaged, sampled back, slowed, or recorded straight in one shot. Inspired by DJ Screw, Maria Chavez, Christian Marclay, and Nike7up, these noise and pop compositions dial into the radio as an emotional barometer of place and time.

Brigitte Bardon’t is Kristel Jax’s a multifaceted sound project based in Toronto, Canada. Radio Songs is an ongoing endeavor, with more releases from more locations to come. Bardon’t is also behind multi-media project O/L, radio series Infinite Poolside, and Drone Therapy Podcast. In 2019 she performed at Moogfest in Durham, North Carolina and released a 7” split single on No Exist with Turkey’s Okay Vivian, featuring a cover of Chris Isaak’s Wicked Game set to shortwave radio recordings. Her pop album, O/L, is coming someday.
