“I remember attending my first noise show. I arrived to a Wolf Eyes concert in Ypsilanti, Michigan and saw one guy waving a mic in front of the P.A. system, creating loud and sudden bursts of feedback. I was floored with how ingenious this concept of music was, thinking that the revolution was now upon us and I was witnessing it from the front row. After a few songs in, there were two girls walking out of a dance and stumbling into the concert, walking past the group, now with a singer, simply mumbling into the microphone while loud drones and feedbacks were still peaking at max volume. One girl jammed fingers into her ears, while the other one was cupping hers. They both had expressions of disgust – especially when they walked right past the band. Right then, I knew, the revolution was indeed upon us, and there are a bunch of kids all over the world, that are over-joyed with how raw and offensive it is to the general public.

To contribute to these conditions, we bring you another band for the wagon; coming all the way from Bermuda, is the latest release “Noisenautics Volume 3” by Nava Spatiala. Nava Spatiala is an experimental group that uses drones and ambience as improvisational instruments. The group has been around since 2010, using dadaism and deconstructionist philosophies when approaching songwriting. They do this by taking apart their songs and intersecting, altering and modulating them. They’re definitely not the band that aims for offensiveness, but rather in thoughtfulness. It’s a great album for the upcoming season.”
